| Ok, I'll be short...my new roommate is a girl.
The very girl that I've been dating for the past year (well, eleven and a half
months). We decided to make the leap and take it for a test drive. I didn't
want to end up with another 12 month lease, and God knows why she ever asked me (I'm still
not sure). Needless to say, we're now living together officially. Same mailing
address and everything. Neither one of us has done this before (at least not to my knowledge). I've had some interesting roommates in the past. I think it's fair to say that this one is the best so far. We're one of those cute little couples that actually have something in common...imagine that. We don't fight often, and when we do, it's usually her fault (she reads these journals). For the most part, it's been a pretty good relationship. A few bumps here and there, but grand total I think we've only been broken up for about 8 hours (stretched over about 3 or 4 times). The cool thing is that her apartment is not only better than mine, but the rent is also $250 cheaper. Imagine that? We even get to save money. My rational on the money issue is: the little stress that may be added due to us living together can be easily eliminated by taking trips, going out on dates, or even her buying me expensive gifts. And since we'll both be saving money, we'll be able to do more of those types of things. Right? Hope so. So, I think my life may get pretty interesting in the next couple of months. The only major problem we've had so far is that both of us have an extremely large wardrobe. Big problem. On other fronts, I'm alone in a 1,200 square foot office. Our company has expanded so fast that they are renting out some office space down the block from our main office. So far, I'm the only one here. I'm not even sure how many people are goingg to be here. It's a lot of fun...let me just tell you that. I need to bring in some sort of stereo, however, otherwise I'm going to go crazy. I spent most of the morning setting up tables and desks, because it was so empty. I would move in my chair, and hear an echo. I do have a pretty good view, I must say. I look over a busy street that has an Einstein Brothers Bagles and a Skate and Tanning Shop. It's the trendly part of town (you know, the area with all the young college grads). So far I haven't really been able to do much. I worked on a plastic surgeon's web page the first couple of days, and the rest has been working on, well...surfing the web. But the funny thing is, that's what I'm supposed to be doing. I get paid to surf the web, and know how it's done. Don't ask...I'll explain some other day. Right now, it's back to work. But I will leave you with one final question: does everyone have an annoying friend that screws everything up, talks only about drinking, and is paranoid about everything? Just curious. Not that I have one, or anything. |
