Entering week number two of 'officially' having a new roommate.  Things are going pretty well.  My stuff still occupies the entire garage, but for now I'm fine with that.  I'm sure someone would like their parking space back.  For that I apologize.  The reason that I haven't been able to get everything in order is because we've been having so much fun.  Going out.   Having some drinks.  Doing little projects.  Well...that and last week it was in the 90's almost all the time.  And as much as I would have liked to be in the garage at that time.  No, thank you.

I was set to write about some sort of news story this morning.  Political or not.  I went through the Times, the Post, and even went to Yahoo and the newswire.  Pretty slow day.  In fact, it's been a pretty slow month for exciting news.  The war in Yugoslavia isn't on the minds of CNN producers, so therefore, the war must not exist.  It's amazing how fast something so big can just fade into memory.  From what I can hear, nothing has really changed in the region.  Our troops are still, UK troops are still there...heck, the Russians even have a few men stationed there.  What happened?  Where's the news?

I just need something this morning to keep me going.  I'm in one of those moods where I just can't get comfortable.  It all started this morning.  I did not want to get out of bed.  I was making every excuse possible so I would have to get up.  Now I wish I had been more persuasive with myself...what I wouldn't give for a short half-hour nap righ now.

The Blair Witch Project opens up this weekend.  A friend of mine is trying to get us tickets to the sneek preview.  It sounds like a pretty good movie.  I've been reading through the reviews and almost all of them are positive (and by that I mean very positive).

Here's a little review (or overview, as it may be):

"On October 21, 1994, Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard, and Michael Williams hiked into the Black Hills Forest to shoot a documentary film on a local legend called 'The Blair Witch,' and were never seen again. One year later, their footage was found." These are the opening lines of The Blair Witch Project. There are no credits, there is no flashback sequence, and there is no friendly narrator to guide you through this...."

Some people have said it's the scariest movie of this decade.  Well, that's good enough for me.  It's been such a long time since I've seen a truly scary movie.   When I was growing up I always thought I would become a Hollywood special effects artist, working on Horror films.  I was facinated by the entire industry.  Crazy thing about the whole deal is that I still can't watch the movie, "Salem's Lot."   It was the first horror movie I ever saw (I was about 5 years old).  It gave me the creeps soo bad that even today I can't bare to watch it.

When I was a freshmen in college my roommate and I had gone to bed (probably after a long night of studying. Yeah, right!).  Neither one of us could sleep.  So, we turned on the TV and started to flip through the channels to see what might be on (unfortunately, "The World's Strongest Man" competition was not on that night).   Then we started talking about scary movies we had seen when we were kids, movies that we could't watch even today.  At the same time we said, "Salem's Lot."   That was pretty creepy, as it was.  We talked about it for a while; what scared us...and stuff like that.  Then we both agreed that we wouldn't talk about it anymore, because it was already going to give us nightmares anyway.

So, in order to clear our minds, we went back to the TV to see what was on.  We stopped on TBS, because they usually have pretty good late-night movies on.  Sure enough..."Salem's Lot" was the movie that night. I've never seen that TV get shut off faster in my entire life...  Now that's a creepy story.  I still haven't been able to watch it and I'm 24 years old.

I'll let you all know how the movie goes this weekend.  Shit..that just reminded me that the sneek preview is the same night as my one year anniversary.  Yikes!   Decisions, decisions.

We'll see what happens.
