Today, I was looking through newsgroups. I came across the Rosie O'Donnell newsgroup and was suprised to see how many posts there were. I read some of them, and they were all about her little fight with Tom Celic. I didn't actually see the show, but I wish that I would have. Anyways, I guess that I am kinda on her side, not only because I have an autographed picture of her hanging on my wall, but because I just downright agree with her. Like I said, I didn't hear every word that she said, so don't hold me to every word. I do know what most of it was about though. Anyways, here goes. I know that the admendments give people certain right, one of them the rights to carry weapons, another being the freedom of speech, which this is of course. Anyways, when the admendments were written, I think that noone would have ever dreamed that the problem that exists today would exist. Also, in that time, hunting was the main source of food. I understand that alot of guns are only used for recreational hunting, which I know alot of people enjoy, but hunting could be done away with. When is the last time you heard of someone going hungry because they didn't get a deer or something to that effect. It doesn't happen. The animals that are hunted are a secondary or tirtiary food source. They aren't needed. Again, I understand the enjoyment that people get out of this, but lets use this as an example. All the people that have lost a family member or friend to a gun: would you rather have guns eliminated totally, or would you rather continue the sport of hunting, knowing that there are still guns available to some crazy person that could knock off another one of your family members at any time. I think that most of the people that have lost someone would choose the first. I know that there are all the NRA people, etc. and if you think that guns should stick around, then that is your own opinion, which you are entitled to. Just remember that that opinion might bite you in the butt someday.

Another thing that I think is totally childish is the boycotting of things that Rosie is associated with. Everyone knows that Rosie donated tons of $$$ to charity each year. The more you boycott, the less money that is available, the less help the children in need will get. What does K-Mart have to do with this gun control issue. NOTHING!!! Don't drag this issue into her living just because she has a different opinion then you do.. She has 2 kids to support, and while she is doing that, she is support alot of other low-life parents kids. Think about that one first.

Alright. Let the posts flow. I would like to hear your opinion about this thing. NO, I AM NOT ANTI-AMERICAN. I am just another AMERICAN with an opinion that I am going to be let known.
