I have 2 major topics in this journal, and as of now, I don't know if I will get to them both. I guess it will all depend on time. Anyways, I if I don't get to the second topic, that will be for tomorrow, or whenever I get a chance to type it. HERE GOES.

I was watching a show the other night (I don't remember which one) but they were talking about legalizing marijuana (which I will refer to as 'MA' from now on to save me typing it over and over again). Anyways, it was in a panel type discussion. They brought up about how it should be legalized for medical purposes. This is my opinion on the topic: MA is said to help people, espeically ones that are deathly ill. I guess that I should call it help, but it provides medical relieve. Anyways, if this is the only thing that we can find to aid them in their pain to make their remaining days comfortable, then why not make it available to them?? Sounds good, right????? HELL NO!!! There is no way. I guess that the best way to show my point would be throught a little example. Lets say that Joe is dying with a rare disease that will never be cured, and he is given 1 year to live. IN this one year, he will suffer from some very severe pain, so his doctor has prescribed him some MA to sooth his aches. Although this is prescribed specifically for Joe and is to only be "consumed" by him, who is to say that someone else is not taking part in his MA??? How do we know that he isn't only taking one of his three doses a day and selling the other two to make money??? How do we know that he is not leaving it lay around his house where is teenage kids can get access to it??? There is no way to make sure that none of that happens. Because of there being no way to control it, there is no way that it should be legalized. This is an example that happens in my area. Granted, it isn't a life or death example, and nothing mentioned in the following example kills anyone, but it is an example of how there is no control. In my state, in order to get a handicap license to be eligable to park in handicap spaces, you must visit your doctor in able to get a permit. Well, in several cases, doctors have been paid off to issue permits to lazy people that don't feel like walking, that would rather take advantage of the spaces up close. Also, people that might have a handicap permit, even thought that a handicap person isn't with them, will park in a handicap spot and walk into the store fine. They have left the handicap person at home, but are still using the permit that was issued for that handicap person, even though he/she is at home on the couch. This handicap example is a prime example of how a doctor could be paid off to write a MA prescription for someone that is addicted, but not in need. Also, it shows that people can take off the person that it is prescribed to. Another thing to think about. Doctors are able to write their own prescriptions. Does our society want doctors being able to write themself an prescription for MA so that they can get high? I know I don't want my family doctor under the influence of MA!!!! Until they can find a way to control it, there is no reason to think about legalizing MA. That is my opinion, but I would like to hear others. Either e-mail me or post something on the board.

I will write about topic #2 later...... Maybe I will see something on TV tonight that will make a topic #3 for me.
